Description
Each tree branch serves as the core of its structure, expanding in multiple directions both above and below the ground. It embodies contrasts such as wet and dry, compact and vast, thick and thin—qualities that help us visualize and understand nature’s complexity. This project draws inspiration from these characteristics, using the surrounding trees in Cyprus to emphasize a return to nature. The generated design fosters a seamless blend of architecture and landscape. Further, the central axis cuts through the grove, extending from an elevated point to the lower landscape, creating a dynamic flow. The wet area reflects the tree’s underground roots on the eastern side, while the western side symbolizes the dry blossoms, bringing texture and life to the site. After all, strict boundaries are never maintained in a tree, nor in this project, where extensions of zones are considered.
